[JUST IN] Wanted man arrested in connection with Thandi Mampane’s murder

Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe says the man has been positively linked to the 11-year-old's murder.

LIMPOPO – The Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba has commended the Crime Intelligence team and other operational members who conducted an operation which led to the arrest of a wanted man in connection with the murder of 11-year-old Thandi Mampane.

Mampane’s body was found in bushes near Ga-Marishane village in the Nebo Policing area outside Groblesdal on Friday, 6 September, after she went missing the day before.

Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe says the 35-year-old man, who has been positively linked to Mampane’s murder, was arrested and will appear before the Nebo Magistrate Court on Monday 16 September 2019 and will face a charge of murder.

 

“The cause of death will be determined through ongoing police investigations as well as an autopsy,” he said.

Ledwaba also thanked the community for providing police with quality and reliable information.
