University of Limpopo (UL) commenced a weeklong programme in celebration of their 60th anniversary with alumni and stakeholders at Onkgopotse Tiro Hall on Monday.
The celebrations will culminate in the inauguration of the institution’s new Chancellor, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma who will also deliver the 7th Onkgopotse Tiro Memorial Lecture tomorrow (Friday).
In his brief message on Monday, UL Vice Chancellor and Principal, Mahlo Mokgalong said they pride themselves with what they have achieved in the past 60 years. “This is a year in which we take stock of the previous six decades to consider whether we realised certain milestones, such as responding actively to the development needs of our students, staff and communities through relevant and higher quality education and training, research and community engagement.”
