Corpse found under bridge

The corpse of an unknown male adult was found under a bridge at the corner of Suid and Landdros Maré streets in Polokwane yesterday (Wednesday) morning. Bystanders on the scene informed Polo­kwane Observer that the body was discovered by a Zimbabwean national who was collecting metal for recycling purposes. After making the gruesome discovery the man reportedly told a security guard at one of the businesses in the area to alert the Police.
While Police on the scene could not give any details, Polokwane Observer noted that the victim’s T-shirt bore blood stains. While Police were assessing the corpse, a wound was spotted on the upper body. A tyre was also seen next to the victim and bystanders reckoned that the perpetrator(s) seemingly wanted to burn the body.
At the time of going to print Polokwane Police Spokesperson Lesiba Ramoshaba was not aware of the incident but pledged to give feedback in due course.
