Known for their quality, Magna Port & Steel will provide you with the best carport in town

For Piet De Jager, Magna Port & Steel is more than just a family business and focusing on the quality of their carports has set them a notch above their competition

POLOKWANE – Driving around town, you’re likely to see carports of different sorts, keeping vehicles out of the sun and out of harm’s way. Those carports are more than likely to have been installed by Piet De Jager and his team at Magna Port & Steel.

Magna Port & Steel have designed and built custom shade structures for customers all over Limpopo and each structure is custom designed and architecturally pleasing while offering maximum sun protection.

Seamstresses Anna Matlou and Maria Mogashoa are in charge of sewing netting together. They say the largest project they’ve worked on is a cover for a dam.

Piet adds that he fully understands the need for a product that provides adequate sun protection and withstands South African weather conditions. “All our steel ports are designed to meet local building codes. We strive to provide our clients with prompt and efficient customer service. Our workmanship is of high standards and is approved by most Insurance Companies, Architects and Engineers,” he said.

Their products can be used in the following areas:

  • Caravans and boats
  • Swimming Pools
  • Play Areas
  • Grand Stands
  • Patio Covers
  • Car Parking
  • Nurseries
  • Crops & Animal Covers
  • Light Aircraft Covers

Speaking to Review, Piet says he started the business with his son and one employee back in 2000 and they have been in the industry since then. Their main focus, he says, is providing a quality product and making sure the client is happy, long after installation. “We have grown from one employee to about 13 since 2000 and we try our best to stay above economic hardships,” he said.

Magna Port & Steel’s nets are available in a variety of colours and their shade ports require little or no maintenance.

As a quality conscious business, Piet says what sets them apart from their competition is the fact that they take care of their clients post-installation. “Should our clients have problems with their carport, Magna Port & Steel will service the product back to our standard and fix what is broken. In that sense, we have built on our name as a business that is always willing to assist and one that the public can trust.”
