A suspect who allegedly hijacked a vehicle elsewhere was stopped in his tracks by members of the Police and local crime frighting structures outside the city last week.
According to a source Police received information about an allegedy hijacked NP200 bakkie making its way to Polokwane last Tuesday evening.
Police, members of Nirvana Community Policing Forum (CPF) and other crime fighting structures quickly mobilised along the N1 bypass to intercept the vehicle.
The vehicle entered the city via the R101 and a chase ensued the moment it was spotted. The vehicle was intercepted along the bypass and the suspect arrested on the spot.
At the time of going to print the Police were not able to provide any details on the case or where the vehicle was allegedly hijacked.
