POLOKWANE – Two others have been arrested for fraud following yesterday’s arrest of the 53-year-old Warrant Officer.

POLOKWANE – A 53-year-old Warrant Officer attached to the Protection and Security Services (PSS) in Polokwane was arrested earlier today, 4 September, on a charge of fraud.
His arrest comes after a suspicious sick note, issued by a ‘medical doctor’ was submitted with a leave form in Seshego. Police Spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe says these acts of fraud have been happening since 2013.

“Police investigations revealed that the wife of this warrant officer was working for a doctor in the area and when she was dismissed, she allegedly stole documents with the doctor’s letterhead,” he explained.
The couple were allegedly selling sick notes and prescriptions to people at a cost of R100.
The Warrant Offer allegedly issued over 20 sick notes to himself during this period. The officer will soon appear before the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on charges of fraud.
“His wife is still on the run but a manhunt is underway. Police are appealing to anyone with information that can lead to her arrest to contact Captain Richard Boshomane at 079 894 5501 the crime stop number 0860010111 or the nearest police station.”
Acting Provincial Police Commissioner, Major General Samuel Manala has welcomed the arrest, saying it should send a strong message to police members still perpetrating any form of criminality, that harsh measures will be taken against them once caught.
