#WFD- Boerewors Sishebo

You can serve this dish with either rice or pap.

POLOKWANE – Traditional South African dishes are perfect as they showcase the diversity of our country.

One such dish is Sishebo which has become a popular dish among many South Africans.

What’s for Dinner gives you the opportunity to make this delicious meal.

Ingredients

  1. 1 tbsp cooking oil
  2. 1.5 onions, chopped
  3. 1 tbsp rajah mild & spicy curry powder
  4. 1 tsp Robertsons Steak & Chops Spice
  5. 2 tomatoes, chopped
  6. 400g boerewors, sliced
  7. 2 cups water
  8. 2 cups pumpkin, peeled and cubed
  9. 1 Knorrox Beef Stock Cube
  10. 2 x tbsp KNORR Minestrone Soup

Method

  1. In a pot, brown the onion in oil
  2. Add the Rajah Mild & Spicy Curry Powder, Robertsons Steak & Chop Spice and tomatoes
  3. Fry for about 2 minutes
  4. Add the sliced boerewors and fry until well browned
  5. Add the pumpkin, 2 cups of water and Knorrox Beef Stock Cube, turn down the heat and all it all to simmer for 20 minutes
  6. Just before serving, mix the Knorr Minestrone Soup with 4 tablespoons of water to make a smooth paste and add it to the pot
  7. Allow the dish to simmer for a further 5 minutes or until the sishebo becomes thick
  8. Serve with rice or pap
