#MokpaneShutdown – Permission granted for a peaceful march, not a shutdown

Business owners were warned that should they decide to remain open, it will be at their own discretion and the Department of Education are expected to make a decision on whether or not schools will close or not.

MOKOPANE – Permission has been granted for protesters to march on Thursday, 5 September and Friday, 6 September from 11:00 until 15:00.

The announcement was made by the organisers of the protest at the Mokopane Hotel this afternoon where police gave permission for a peaceful march and not a total shutdown.

Certain conditions will apply and protesters will gather in front of Frontline Hyper in Nelson Mandela Drive at 8:30. At 11:00 they will march via Ruiter Street to the Mogalakwena Municipality in Retief Street.

Business owners were warned that should they decide to remain open, it will be at their own discretion and the Department of Education are expected to make a decision on whether or not schools will close or not.
