Lepelle Northern Water stops water supply to Polokwane

This is due to the failure of non-return valves from one of the pumps at the Olifantspoort Plant

POLOKWANE – Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) has temporarily stopped water supply from Olifantspoort Plant to Polokwane due to failed non-return valves from one of the pumps.

As a result, all areas of supply are affected including the city, Seshego, Ivydale, Ga-Chuene, Ga-Maja and Thokgwaneng.

Repairs are estimated to take around four to six hours but the Polokwane Municipality warns that water may still take some time to reach all affected areas after replacement of the valves.

“All areas receiving water are urged to use water sparingly and any water-related challenges should be reported to the municipal water helpline on 015 290 2376/2629,” Municipal Spokesperson, Thipa Selala said.
