LIMPOPO – Police in Zebediela are investigating a case of culpable homicide following a vehicle collision on the R579 near Rafiri village on Saturday evening, 24 August.
Police Spokesperson, Col Moathse Ngoepe reports that a Nissan bakkie was overtaking another motor vehicle when it collided head-on with a Toyota Quantum. The collision caused another involving another Toyota Quantum and a sedan.
“Seven people were instantly killed and two were certified dead on arrival at the hospital bringing the total number of people who died, to nine. A total of 27 people sustained serious injuries and were taken to various hospitals for medical treatment. The process of identifying the deceased is still underway,” he said.
Police investigations continue.
