[VIDEOS] Protesters negotiate with police for a peaceful march

Sgt Martin Nemutandani said the main roads leading into and out of Mokopane have been closed by the traffic department and that a high police presence is expected.

MOKOPANE – Protesters are currently negotiating with police for a peaceful protest after law enforcement blocked main roads leading into Mokopane.

The first meeting was set to start at 07:30 in front of Cashbuild in Nelson Mandela Drive.

Sgt Martin Nemutandani said the main roads leading into and out of Mokopane have been closed by the traffic department and that a high police presence is expected.

“Buses transporting protesters will be barred from entering Mokopane,” he told Bosveld.

He added that police’s main focus today is to avoid violence and a total shutdown
