Pamper your little ones at the Smoochie Kids Salon, Spa and Party

Smoochie Kids Salon, Spa and Party founder and owner, Menzi Mabuza’s (31) love for kids eventually resulted in her opening a kiddies salon.

POLOKWANE – Originally from Jane Furse, Tshehlwaneng and now residing in Polokwane, Menzi has always had a passion for children. “When my son was born, it was important for me to make him as comfortable and happy as possible. An environment in which kids would mingle and play with other kids while being pampered, came to me early last year. Safety and comfort was one of my biggest priorities,” she said.

Growing up, Manzi attended school at Maserala Primary School, Happy Day Primary School, then Northern Academy, and completed matric at St Mark’s College in Jane Furse, in 2018.
After matric, she studied business management at Damelin College in Braamfontein for two years and completed her third and final year at Damelin, Randburg Campus. She opened the salon early this year, initially starting with a clothing line for children.

“The name ‘Smoochie’ interestingly enough came from my son and nephew. I involved them in a brainstorming session I had in coming up with the name. To me it was important to let them be a part of the process, and they came up with this cute name,” she explained.

She said it’s important to not only teach children to appreciate their beauty, but to also teach and groom them to pamper themselves.

“It’s up to us as parents to instil confidence in our children, so when they step into the world, they are equipped with the skills to conquer the world.”

The kiddies salon offers various services: “Massages, facials, manicures and pedicures are done for our young clients. We also organise parties,” she explained.  She explained her passion: “This, for me, is a calling more than a business,” she said.

They are planning to open a lifestyle restaurant on the same premises later.
