Franko’s love for music motivates him to go further

Having always believed he was born a star, former Mr South Africa Youth 2014, Franko Jacobs from Polokwane is a passionate musician who travelled a lot throughout his high school career.

POLOKWANE – Franko attended primary school at Pietersburg Laerskool and high school at Hoërskool Pietersburg, Marné Eberson Leersentrum and completed Gr 12 through home-schooling.
He then furthered his studies as a massage therapist at House of Asante Spa and graduated in 2017.

“I also wanted to do something different and challenging so that I have various career options to fall back on. I then started taking courses in graphic design, and I’m still following a career in graphic design,” he said.

Franko started singing at a young age and grew to love music and performing.

“A good friend of mine was in and out of hospital and we, unfortunately, lost her in May this year due to leukaemia. When I recorded a tribute music video for her, the video went viral on social media and everyone wanted a ‘piece’ of me. My bookings increased and I started performing at various local events,” he said.

He recently performed alongside artist Ivan Roux at the wine and game festival, where he had to perform every hour to keep the crowd entertained.

“My family supports me at every event where I perform and cheers me on. I appreciate their support because not all parents approve of their children pursuing a career in music,” he added.
Aside from singing, Franko works a nine-to-five-job, is a model and an actor.

“I would one day love to collaborate with Corlea Botha and Elandre because they are very good musicians. My advice to young aspiring singers is to not be afraid. Dream as big as you want.”
