Khensani Nkatingi inspiring up-and-coming female entrepreneurs to ‘use what they have’

Khensani Nkatingi is seeking to break the stigma that being an entrepreneur is reserved for men only.

POLOKWANE – Khensani is a Golden Key society member at the University of Stellenbosch, a student representative in her faculty, all this while she is a second year BCom in Sustainable Development student. As a way of giving back to her community she is offering local woman a networking session where they will get a platform to collaborate, network, brainstorm and share ideas on becoming sustainable entrepreneurs.

She says she doesn’t guarantee that she has the expertise to help every woman personally, but there is bound to be someone at the session that will have an answer to the questions that might arise. “The main aim of these sessions is to catapult the rise of the female entrepreneur, and in doing so we need to be there for each other.”

She says she hopes these sessions will have a ripple effect where women will be able to share their experiences even outside of the session. “These sessions happen half-yearly at the Big Ben lodge in Bendor, and the theme is Always Use What You Have. There is a stigma that being an entrepreneur is reserved for men, which makes it a male dominated world, all the more reason why females need to rally behind each other.”

Khensani says the nest session will be held in November. Details will be made available in due time.
