BREAKING NEWS – Mother allegedly hangs herself after killing baby

Police are investigating a case of murder and opened an inquest docket after a mother reportedly hung herself from a tree after she had allegedly killed her baby at Extension 44 outside Polokwane on Friday.
According to Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe the Police responded early morning to frantic calls from the community about the body of a woman in her thirties found suspended from a tree among nearby bushes.
Upon arrival at the scene with emergency medical services the woman was declared dead and Police started with their initial investigations. Information led Police to a shack in the same area where they have discovered the body of a three-month-old baby. The exact cause of its death is still being investigated but it seems as if it had been strangled, Ngoepe indicated.
Provincial Police Commissioner Nneke Ledwaba condemned the incident and urged members of the community to seek professional help and intervention instead of harming or killing each other.
