Eagle’s Nest learner set to represent SA at the Bill Stewart World Football Tour

Thato Masipa was selected to represent South Africa in the United Kingdom during the Bill Stewart World Football Tour, however he needs to raise R35 000 in order to go on the trip.

POLOKWANE – Two learners from Eagle’s Nest Christian School have recently represented both the school and province.

Both learners are currently in Gr 7 and said they enjoyed the Bill Stewart Tournament which took place in Pretoria over the June school holiday, where the boys mixed and mingled with other players from other schools during the selection tournament.

Puseletso Mamabolo (13) and Thato Masipa (12) from Eagle’s Nest Christian School both represented the school during the Bill Stewart Football Tournament in Pretoria. Thato is set to represent the country as part of the 26 boys chosen to play at the Bill Stewart World Football Tour in December.

Thato Masipa was selected to represent South Africa in the United Kingdom during the Bill Stewart World Football Tour, however he needs to raise R35 000 in order to go on the trip. In an interview with BONUS, the 13-year-old said the tournament in Pretoria was an exciting experience and he looks forward to more learning when he goes to the UK in December. “This will be my first time travelling overseas and I am looking forward to travelling abroad and meeting other aspiring soccer players from all over the world. This trip will be a dream come true and I want to represent my school and family well,” Thato explained.

He plays striker and looks up to local player, Gustavo Paez and international players, Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar Jr. Thato wants to be a recognised professional soccer player one day, so he can be an inspiration to other young aspiring soccer players in the country.
