#WFD – Chakalaka and Wors

What could be more South African than boerewors and chakalaka?

POLOKWANE – What could be more South African than boerewors and chakalaka?

Whether you braai the wors, grill, prepare it in a pot or in the oven, this dish is sure to be a lekker hit with the family.

Ingredients

  1. 125ml cooking oil
  2. 1 x large onion, finely chopped
  3. 2 x green peppers, finely chopped
  4. 1 x tsp Robertsons Peri-Peri
  5. 1 x tbsp rajah hot curry powder
  6. 6 x large tomatoes, grated
  7. 4 x large carrots, peeled and grated
  8. 1 x tin baked beans in tomato sauce
  9. 1 x Knorrox Chilli Beef Stock Cube
  10. 2 x tbsp KNORR Curry Vegetable Soup
  11. 400g boerewors, grilled

Method

  1. Warm the oil in a pot for 1 minute
  2. Add onions and green pepper and fry together with the Robertsons Peri-peri and Rajah Hot Curry Powder until onions are soft
  3. Add the grated carrots, tomatoes, baked beans and Knorrox Chilli Beef Stock Cube, and mix well
  4. Allow the mixture to cook for 15 – 20 minutes on medium heat
  5. Stir the mixture every 5 minutes to ensure that it does not stick, and becomes smooth
  6. Mix the Knorr Curry Vegetable Soup with 4 tablespoons of water to make a smooth paste
  7. Add it to the pot and allow your dish to simmer for 5 minutes, stirring continuously until it becomes thick
  8. Serve with boerewors and pap
