#WFD- Broccoli in white sauce

This dish can serve as an accompaniment to fish or grilled meat.

What’s for Dinner makes eating broccoli easy with their Broccol in White Sauce recipe which is sure to impress even the most stubborn child who doesn’t want to eat their vegetables.

Ingredients

  1. 300g broccoli florets (approx. 1 head of broccoli)
  2. 30ml margarine
  3. 30ml cake flour
  4. 500ml milk
  5. 1 x KNORR Vegetable Stock Pot

Method

  1. Boil the broccoli florets in water until just tender then drain and place into ice water (this will stop the cooking process and ensure your broccoli keeps its bright green colour)
  2. Melt the margarine in a saucepan and stir in the cake flour to make a roux then allow to cook for 2 minutes stirring continuously
  3. Stir in the milk a little at a time to prevent lumps from forming, then stir constantly until the sauce has thickened
  4. Add the KNORR Vegetable Stock Pot and allow it to melt in the sauce then stir in the broccoli
