Young author hopes her book will inspire others to follow their dreams

Curro Northern Academy, Gr 8 learner, Ntiyiso Amukelani Mukhari recently launched her first book titled, Life's Journey and says she hopes it to be the first of many.

POLOKWANE -“Life’s Journey is based on the story of a young girl who was brave enough to follow her dreams, as opposed to listening to what people tell her to do. As youth we have dreams and aspirations and I strongly believe that given the opportunity to take those steps towards achieving our goals or failing while attempting to, we will be gaining the strength and confidence to chase our dreams and work hard until we achieve them,” she explained.

Amu said she was overwhelmed by the level of support which she received by both her family, friends and her teachers who were amoung the attendees at her book launch which took place in her home town Soekmekaar.

“I have always had a passion for writing and it took me a year to finish my first book of 85 pages. I plan to write many more books using the knowledge I have acquired through engaging with fellow authors,” she said.

Principal from the Curro Northern Academy, Chris Jansen van Rensburg and some of the learners from the school.

She added that she wants to serve as an inspiration to her peers that success is not defined by age or economic status. “Passion, hard work and focus to the key ingredients to achieve ones dreams and aspirations,” she concluded.
