[UPDATE] GNT buses impounded; found to be unroadworthy

All intersections have been cleared and flow of traffic is back to normal

POLOKWANE – The three intersections blockaded by Great North Transport buses in the CBD this morning have been cleared and the buses taken to the traffic yard, reports the Polokwane Municipality

Motorists travelling in and out of the city had to use alternative routes as bus drivers parked in major intersections, blocking motorists, thereafter abandoning the buses

“Traffic fines were issued and several arrests were made. All intersections have been cleared and flow of traffic is back to normal,” said municipal spokesperson, Thipa Selala.

The buses were tested at the licensing station and found to be un-roadworthy.
