Two men arrested after being found in possession of five cattle carcasses in Bolobedu

Preliminary police investigations managed to find the owners of the stock, who identified their cattle through the animal's brand marks.

LIMPOPO – Two men, aged 29 and 41-years-old are expected to appear in the Bolobedu Magistrate’s Court, soon, after having been arrested for stock theft.

Police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe, says the suspects were travelling in a bakkie that was loaded with five cattle carcasses in Shawela village, in the Bolobedu policing area.

“During the arrest, two suspects managed to run away, but they have been identified and the driver and owner of the vehicle were apprehended on the spot. Preliminary police investigations managed to find the owners of the stock, who identified their cattle through the animal’s brand marks,” Ngoepe’s statement read.

A manhunt for the remaining suspects is still underway and the suspects will appear in Bolobedu Magistrate court, soon.

“Anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of these suspects, may contact the crime stop number 0860010111 or the nearest police station,” Ngoepe’s statement concluded.
