Keep a furry friend warm this winter and support Woofels’ blanket drive

Donate a blanket and help keep the animals at Polokwane SPCA warm this winter.

POLOKWANE -While you are snug at home think about the animals who living at the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) . Just like humans, they also need a blanket to cuddle to keep warm the cold winter nights. winter time to sleep warm.

With this in mind well known doggy parlour, Woofels, has decided to run a blanket drive where readers can donate blankets to the SPCA.

“Dogs also have feeling just like humans, they feel the cold just as much as we do,” says Jo-Anne Honiball, co-owner of Woofels. “Please care and share… All blanket types are welcome even old continental pillows with a cover will be great. You can take the blankets to the SPCA premises if that suites you better.”

Review spoke to Selma Landman, manager at the SPCA who confirmed that they indeed need blankets for the dogs and cats in the kennels.

She added that they are also need collar and food donations.

“On Madiba Day we would like to reach out to a village close to Mangkweng where we hope to encourage residents and pet owners to use a chain instead of wire when tying up their pets. By doing this we would also like to donate collars and therefore we need donations for collars along with the blankets. While in the area we also want to hand out food parcels and ask for donations of 1kg and 2kg packets of animal food. We thank everyone helping us out with donations.”
