The woman, a store manager at a local furniture store between April and May 2019, reportedly assisted three customers in buying furniture but their purchased goods were never delivered to them.

“When they lodged complaints at the store, they learnt that the suspect was no longer working there and the store knew nothing about their purchases,” police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe said in a statement.

Police were notified and cases of fraud were opened. “The suspect was traced and arrested in Lephalale, where she was already employed at another furniture store,” Ngoepe added.

Preliminary police investigations revealed that the suspect had defrauded the store of thousands of rands during this period.
