Sport MEC calls on youth to not be part of the ‘lost generation’
The MEC for the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture, Thandi Moraka on Friday took the opportunity to address the youth ahead of Youth Day which will be celebrated on 16 June.
POLOKWANE –Â This address was delivered during a special send off of the Limpopo Volley Ball team who will be representing the province at the South African National Volleyball League in Gauteng.
She urged the attendees not be part of the group of young people known as the lost generation and further called on the youth of the province to stand up for the youth that fought for them so many years ago. “Get involved in activities such as sport, take your own future into your hands and make it a success.”
“We as the Department will take on every challenge to help create opportunities for the youth and call on all the young people to get involved in building their own businesses and help in creating jobs for other people because the future is in their hands.”
