LNW says contractor didn’t finish planned maintenance in specified time

As a result, water shortages will continue in all areas until the work is done

POLOKWANE – A statement released by the Municipality states that the contractor working for Lepelle Northern Water, who is working on cleaning the fore-bays and command reservoirs at the Olifantspoort Plant, could not finish at the anticipated time last night, 6 June.

On Tuesday, Review reported that the maintenance was expected to take 18 hours, however, the contractor is still busy on site.

Municipal spokesperson, Thipa Selala says it is not clear when the work will be completed and as a result, water shortages will continue in all areas until the work is done.

“The municipality will continue with the deployment of water tankers in affected areas and will provide further updates in terms of progress,” his statement concluded.
