Earlier this morning (Friday) Polokwane Municipality advised that it had just received notification from Lepelle Northern Water that the contractor responsible for maintenance work that commenced at Olifantspoort plant yesterday could not finish at the anticipated time last night and is still busy on site.
It was not clear when the work would be completed, stated Polokwane municipal spokesperson Matshidiso Mothapo in an update of the situation.
“As a result water shortage(s) will continue in all areas until the work is done. The municipality will continue with the deployment of water tankers in affected areas.”
