[UPDATE] Municipality says emergency work at Ebenezer to be suspended till next week

Meanwhile, water supply from Dap Naude Dam has been restored after accidental damage caused by excavation, yesterday.

POLOKWANE – The Polokwane Municipality says emergency work at Ebenezer Dam has been suspended until next week.

This, after divers from the Department of Water Affairs were supposed to commence with the emergency removal of malfunctioning hydraulic cylinders from the dam this morning.

Municipal spokesperson, Thipa Selala says the reason for the suspension is due to a breakdown of their machinery that they would need to use.

“It is being repaired now,” he said.

Meanwhile, water supply from Dap Naude Dam has been restored after accidental damage caused by excavation, yesterday. Reports on Thursday stated that the damage was caused by excavation by a local farming company, a kilometer away from the dam.

“Areas still without water are urged to notify the municipality and urges residents to use water sparingly.”
