While mega sales at many of their favourite outlets awaited shoppers at Mall of the North (MoN) on Sunday the real focus was on Mother’s Day and the special treats lined up for those very special women.
The festivities started on Friday already and built up towards Sunday when customers were greeted by the relaxing sounds of the South African Army Band. Mothers were lured to the Game Court where treats awaited them under the mall’s ‘Mom in a Million’ theme. A number of stalls including a bubbly bar, photo booth, Floral Avenue pop-up shop, Perfect 10, Foschini, Mac Makeup and Cardies made for great excitement. The treats included beauty touch-ups and a complimentary glass of champagne.
MoN marketing manager Mari Delport emphasised that the festivities were to recognise and appreciate mothers for being the pillars of their families. She further said several outlets throughout the mall were offering Mother’s Day specials.
“Our stores did very well during this period and a big thank you goes to mothers and customers for choosing to shop at the mall. MoN was abuzz for three days and we got positive feedback from shoppers. Most of them liked the band and the sales. We would like to thank everyone who came through for their continued support,” Delport explained.
Cell phones cameras were seen flashing all over the place as shoppers wanted to capture memories of their enjoyable experience. At the same time the band became the subject of dozens of videos. The festivities continued until late with Game Court seemingly the perfect spot to mingle.
