Local filmmaker to produce documentary on Thoriso Themane’s life, auditions to be held

The documentary titled "The Life of Thorisho" (#WhoIsThorisho) is set to unravel the mystery behind Thorisho's death as well bring updates with regards to his court cases.

POLOKWANE – Lapeng Media’s Eliyah “Kiasto” Papole, with written permission from the Themane family, is set to direct and produce a documentary in memory of the late Thorisho Themane.

The documentary titled “The Life of Thorisho” (#WhoIsThorisho) is set to unravel the mystery behind Thorisho’s death as well bring updates with regards to his court cases. “We are merely going to show his childhood life to his adult life, including his music career and show how he lived his life as a hero and a positive inspiration to the youth in Polokwane and beyond,” he explained.

The filmmaker, director, producer and editor is looking for suitable candidates for the roles to be cast in the documentary and the requirements thereof are as follows:

1. Four boys between the ages of 15-18-years-old

2. One girl between the ages of 15-17-years-old

3. Female voice-over artist/presenter (Who will appear on screen)

4. Three males between the ages of 23-35-years-old

Papole says an official date and venue of the auditions will be announced in the first week of June and he added that a crew will also be needed.

“Following the auditions, a workshop will be hosted for the cast and crew with the date and venue to announced soon,” added Papole.

As part of giving back to the community and helping to groom youth in the city, Papole, through Lapeng Media will be hosting a general actors workshop on Saturday, 18 May at the Saint Ignatius College in Bok Street, Polokwane from 10h00-13:00.

“Professional local actors including Kenny ‘De Filmmaker’ Mackhenzo and Caiphus Maekela (Film student) will be in attendance to provide valuable information and knowledge for aspiring actors and actresses in Polokwane,” he explained
