Limpopo Pavillion hosted at Tourism Indaba

Exhibitors, prepare for Africa's Travel Indaba 2019, one of the biggest tourism marketing events on the African calendar.

POLOKWANE – A workshop facilitated by Evelien Klokman and Marilda Wiegand of Sunbird Tourism Development was held at Hayani Guest House on 24 April. It brought together the various Small, Medium & Micro Enterprise Businesses (SMME’s) who will exhibit at the Indaba, which will take place at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre Complex (Durban ICC) from 2 to 4 May. The Travel Indaba is an appointment-based travel show with over 1 100 exhibitors and the workshop aimed at equipping exhibitors with the necessary knowledge, so they can get the full experience out of the Indaba.
This year, the 50 exhibitors who will form part of the Indaba were taken through the steps on how to conduct themselves and make the best impression to seal deals with the buyers they will encounter during the Indaba. Limpopo Tourism Agency’s Acting CEO, Norah Lion explained how being part of Africa’s Travel Indaba is important as it not only provides the platform for businesses to grow through interactions with their counterparts, but it also grows the province’s economy when deals are secured. The approach this year will focus on presenting the destination through the Limpopo Pavilion, which will this year for the first time accommodate Limpopo municipalities and products under one roof.

Evelien Klokman, explained the purpose of the workshop…

“Our objectives for attending this show are among others, to position Limpopo as a leading destination in Southern Africa, unique heritage and culture destination in Southern Africa and to facilitate business exhibition space for both established products, SMME’s and partners through the Limpopo Pavilion.
She further expressed the LTA’s excitement to have managed to host a Limpopo Pavilion, through the assistance of Indaba management company, Synergy Events. Limpopo Pavilion has increased in size from 153 square metres (last year) to 304 square metres (this year), this will allow all five regions of Limpopo to be represented. The LTA stand will also incorporate all five regions in the unique design of the stand.
