OCD results in the birth of Bokgoni Mobile House Cleaners

POLOKWANE – Bokgoni Mobile House Cleaners are ready to be at your service and will leave your home sparkling clean. Rebecca Phala and Thapedi Kgole are two pees in a pod. Both admitting to suffering from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), they were struck by a brilliant idea of turning their ‘obsession’ into a business. The game plan is straight forward, they come in and do the cleaning that you don’t want to do.

“We are obsessed with extreme cleaning and what better way to capitalise on your cleaning habit than to start a business. A lot of people don’t like cleaning or simply don’t have the time to do it, and there’s nothing worse than coming back from work, still having to clean,” said Rebecca.

They founded the business, which they say caters for the working class, who are just so busy that they don’t have the time to do chores, and the lazy people who don’t want to clean. They clean houses, office spaces, gardens and even wash cars.

They also do clean-ups after events like weddings, funerals and parties, doing the work that people don’t want to do. It took them two weeks to put this business idea into a plan and they have not looked back since.

“We are the type of people who think about something now and implement it immediately, that’s just how we work. When we noticed a gap in the market, we acted on it immediately,” she said.

Thapedi explained that people allowing them into their personal space is an honour, because it shows an element of trust. The pair adds that they have the emotional intelligence to conduct every clean-up with the professionalism and confidentiality it deserves.

He explained that they have plans to expand and employ more people in their workforce.

“The more houses and businesses we get called to clean, the more hands to help we will need. It also helps that we have monthly contracts with clients.

“We want to grow, we don’t want to just clean houses alone, but we want to grow beyond that and not just as a brand but as a team,” he said. They have plans to also create an app that will make their clients’ lives easier. They will be able to log in with the app, describe the type of space they want cleaned, and even add photos, so that they know exactly what they are working with before they even get to the place.
