[WATCH] Traffic situation heading out of Polokwane along the R71

The traffic volumes along the R71 is starting to pick up ahead of the #EasterWeekendTraffic #MoriaTraffic.

POLOKWANE – An influx of visitors are expected to make their way to Limpopo for, among other events, the Moria Zion City pilgrimage.

The MEC for Transport and Community Safety in Limpopo, Makoma Makhurupetje urges motorists to obey the rules of the road, saying that deaths caused by road accidents over the Easter weekend are a harsh reality Limpopo faces.

“We expect to receive millions of people going to different churches and family gatherings, including the Moria Zion City pilgrimage, traffic flow will be high on all our major routes, especially the R71 to Moria, the N1 from Gauteng to Beitbridge and the N11 and Gilead Road from Groblersbridge.”

“Let us guard against speeding and fatigue as chances of one losing control of one’s vehicle are mostly higher when we are either tired or speeding. Limpopo is declared a zero tolerance zone against anyone who will not obey the rules of the road,” emphasised the MEC.
