#WFD – Creamy Chicken and Mushroom Lasagne

Bake at 180°C for 30-40 min until the pasta is cooked.

POLOKWANE – Lasagne is a favourite among many South African families and is perfect for a Saturday evening meal.

What’s for Dinner says this recipe for Creamy Chicken and Mushroom Lasagne will even have Garfield licking his lips for more.

Ingredients

  1. 250ml cheddar cheese, grated
  2. 250g tub cottage cheese
  3. 10 green lasagne sheets
  4. 15ml oil
  5. 250g mushrooms, sliced
  6. 300ml cold milk
  7. 200ml cold water
  8. 500g chicken fillet, cubed
  9. 1 x KNORR Chicken and Mushroom Pan Dry Cook-in-Sauce
  10. 10ml thyme, chopped

Method

  1. Heat oil in a large frying pan and brown chicken.
  2. Add mushrooms and fry for 5 min.
  3. Mix contents of the KNORR Chicken & Mushroom Pan Dry Cook-in-Sauce sachet with 200 ml milk and 200 ml water and add to the chicken, together with the thyme.
  4. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes, stirring.
  5. Layer the chicken and mushrooms between lasagne sheets.
  6. Spread a tub of cottage cheese over the top and sprinkle with cheese
  7. Bake at 180°C for 30-40 min until the pasta is cooked.
