[VIDEO] Lim Aquatics thanks the Municipality for ‘getting behind the swimmers’

After successfully hosting the South African Level 2 regional age group swimming competition in the city, Vice President of Limpopo Aquatics, Rob Anderson thanked the municipality for getting behind the young swimmers and sharpening their efforts to better the town pool.

POLOKWANE – Vice President of Limpopo Aquatics, Rob Anderson says he was impressed to see how good the pool looked building up to the competition. He added that people in the city spoke highly about the swimming competition which saw people from all over the country come together and some from over the border as well.

“It feels great to have a facility where, we as the people charged with looking for future Limpopo swimmers, can know that we have the Polokwane municipality firmly behind us every step of the way as they understand the importance of having these competitions and that it is not just good for the sport, but the economy of the city in general,” he added.

The Polokwane dive pool is clear and gives swimmers the opportunity to prepare as they wait for their events.

He said that one can just imagine the value of people in their hundreds and more coming to the city looking for a place to eat, things to buy and they must stay somewhere. “Just think of the money they bring to the city just because of a town pool looked after by the municipality,” he added.

The Polokwane town pool is open and ready for swimming action.

‘We as the municipality are committed in ensuring that its recreational facilities such as swimming pools are safe and conducive to be utilised at all times. We are proud that our town pool was recently used for the Limpopo Aquatics to host their provincial swimming competition where we were the host city for 377 competitors from various swimming organizations in Limpopo, North West, Mpumalanga and Gauteng provinces,” said Spokesperson of the Polokwane Municipality, Thipa Selala.
