[WATCH] R40 million has gone to upgrading electricity in Seshego and surrounding areas, says Mayor

During the 2019/2020 Draft IDP/Budget community meeting, in Westenburg, Executive Mayor, Thembi Nkadimeng noted that around R40 million was used in the last financial year to improve electricity issues within Seshego and surrounding areas.

POLOKWANE – During the 2019/2020 Draft IDP/Budget community meeting, in Westenburg, with the Executive Mayor, Thembi Nkadimeng, the proposed draft budget by the municipality was discussed. At this meeting, wards had the opportunity to list what they feel needs priority in their wards.

During the meeting, Mayor Nkadimeng noted that around R40 million was used in the last financial year to improve electricity issues within Seshego and surrounding areas.

This included the building of a new substation in Hospital View as well as upgrades to already existing sub stations that supply surrounding areas.

Her remarks come days after a planned power shutdown in Seshego over the past weekend which included the replacement of two 11 kilovolt Circuit Breaker Panels that burnt at the Sigma Substation.
