Capricorn High School (Cappies) learners have once again gathered to bleed for a good cause when they donated blood during the school’s blood drive hosted by the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) Polokwane on Tuesday.
The active Cappies Peer Promoters team led by Tshiamo Masipa as the captain ensured that learners convene at the school hall to donate blood. The team, which was aiming to collect at least 77 units of blood on the day recruited first time donors such as Nicole Ludunge.
Peer promoter Bonolo Maphoto indicated that she joined the team this year because she was passionate about helping people. She further stressed that her grandfather, Ike Maphoto, who is the African National Congress veteran fought for democracy so it was her time to fight for the less fortunate by assisting where possible. The blood drive was also open to the public and the team was happy with the turn-out, Bonolo explained.
