[UPDATE] Mokopane Police releases identity of alleged baby ‘snatcher’

The police have released photos of a woman who they believe can assist them in finding the six-week-old baby that was kidnapped outside a local Shoprite Centre on Thursday, 28 March.

MOKOPANE – The investigative officer, Captain Marcus Mofya, said the suspect in the supplied photos was seen carrying the baby after the incident.

“She is in her mid twenties, of a slim build, dark skinned with plaited hair. We urge the community to notify us immediately if they see this woman.”

He added that a R100 000 reward is offered for information that leads to her arrest.

The police urges anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect, to contact Captain Richard Boshomane at 079 894 5501 or Captain Marcus Mofya at 082 565 8277/ 0154091400. Alternatively they can contact the 24-hour crime stop number on 0860010111, the crime line SMS 32211 or nearest police station.
