LIMPOPO – “The relentless efforts by the police in the fight against the scourge of crime, yielded positive results with the latest arrests of eight suspects during the Intelligence driven joint operations that were conducted in the Mahwelereng and Groblersdal clusters,” said Police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe in a statement on Tuesday.

In the Groblersdal cluster, four suspects, aged between 24 and 55, were arrested on the morning of 5 April for possession of dagga with the estimated value of R500 000.
According to the Ngoepe it is alleged that the arrests were affected after the police officers followed up a tip-off received about the suspects, traveling in two motor vehicles, transporting drugs.
Meanwhile in the Zebediela and Marble Hall Policing areas, another four suspects were nabbed for business robberies and possession of suspected stolen properties, said Ngoepe.
During these arrests a motor vehicle, suspectedhouse breaking equipment, Sassa cards and several other bank cards were recovered.
The arrested suspects will appear before the various magistrate courts soon, he concluded.

The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lieutenant General Nneke Ledwaba, applauded the team of Saps members for keeping the streets of Limpopo safe, by ensuring that all these criminals are arrested. Members of the community were as well appreciated for their valuable information that assisted the Police to effect these arrests.
