This follows the death of 12-year-old, Lesiba Phaka, who was found dead on Saturday, 6 April 2019 in the hostel of Grace and Hope Special School in Seshego Zone 1. Teachers on duty were alerted of Phaka’s death by two learners who shared a room with him. They told the teacher that Phaka was no longer moving or breathing.

Police spokesperson, Col Moatshe Ngoepe says the case against the two suspects was withdrawn and both minors have been released into the custody of their parents.

“The case docket is now being referred to the Director of Public Prosecution for further decision and instructions,” his statement concluded.
