1 dead after vehicle makes a u-turn on N1 outside Polokwane
The fatal accident happened near Esja Lodge just north of the city at around 21:00 on Sunday
POLOKWANE – A man in his forties died in a collision between a bus and a minibus along the N1 just north of the city on Sunday evening.
It is alleged the accident happened after one of the vehicles made an illegal u-turn. “A bus crashed head-side with a Toyota mini bus which allegedly made a u turn,” reported Traffic Policing Affairs Limpopo.
One male passenger, aged about 40-years-old was declared dead on the scene and two people, including the driver of the minibus, sustained serious injuries, they explained.
Meanwhile in the Waterberg district, a woman in her twenties died after the vehicle she was traveling in lost control and overturned on the N1 near Middlefontein.
Traffic Policing Affairs Limpopo reported that one female passenger of 20yrs was declared dead on scene, six people including the driver sustained serious injuries and eight people sustained slight injuries.
The exact causes of both collisions will from part of police investigations.
