Team Stress need your help in giving back to the community

Team Stress, a group of locals who run initiatives in their community, and event company, Main Event are coming together to help the less fortunate within the Westenburg community and beyond.

POLOKWANE – They are running a six-month charity build-up through a series of monthly events, where they collect non-perishables for the homeless and less fortunate. “We are collecting clothes, shoes, blankets, toys and non-perishable food.

“A build-up bash will be held every month, with this month’s event scheduled for 30 March,” said Wayne Southon of Team Stress. He explained they have already identified a few families and crèches that will be the recipients of the collected goods. They will also go into town to hand out blankets to the homeless on the corner of Excelsior and Hans van Rensburg streets.

They ask anyone who can assist with donations to come forward and lend a helping hand. “We are requesting things that are in good enough condition, for somebody to use.

Winter is coming, some people don’t have the luxury of owning a jersey or blanket to keep them warm in the cold season. This is where we as the community can come in and help out,” said Phil Mamabolo of Main Event. People who would like to donate can contact Phil at 083 212 8512 or Wayne at 072 997 2097.
