DA promises a country where all people will have the same opportunities

Democratic Alliance (DA) supporters in Limpopo say they expect their party to perform well in the election. They said this during the party's provincial manifesto launch in Louis Trichardt on Saturday.

LIMPOPO – The DA supporters came out in large numbers to attend the event.

The event was also punctuated by heavy criticism on the ANC, described by several speakers as “corrupt”.

Supporters say: “Of course we are going to do a lot of damage to the ANC, this is definitely our goal. We are going to do well in the election, you have seen the corruption that has been done by the ANC and we believe that we are going to take ANC representatives out of this province.

The DA is going to rule the country.”

The DA Provincial Leader and Premier Candidate, Jacques Smalle says if they are voted into power, they will create a country where all people will have the same opportunities and services.

Smalle said Limpopo is “the corruption capital of South Africa”.

“Not only did we see over R15 billion unauthorised, irregular, fruitless and wasteful expenditure, but this ANC-government was also responsible for the VBS scandal.

“As a result of the VBS scandal 22 000 customers, many of them elderly and poor lost their life savings, and can no longer buy groceries and take care of themselves.”

He also spoke on the lack of infrastructure, such as the collapsed R3 billion Giyani Water Project which has since left more than 50 villages without clean drinking water.

Smalle says if they are voted into power, they will create a country where all people will have the same opportunities and services. Smalle says:

“We will also stand up for the Venda community who have been left behind, and their pensions have not yet been paid to them.

The DA will set up to create a country and provinces where all people regardless of race are equal, and have access to the same opportunities and services, a country that belong to all of us, one South Africa for all.”

“We are going to do well in this election, especially if you see corruption by the ANC and we believe that we are going to take the ANC representatives out of this province.”
