POLOKWANE – The Olifantspoort Plant is currently running low on capacity and isn’t pumping to Polokwane due to another pump failure.

Municipal spokesperson, Thipa Selela says technicians are currently attending to the challenge and water will be restored once the problem is fixed.

“Affected areas include Ivy Park, Ivy Park Ext 34, Seshego Ga-Chuene, Ga-Maja and Thokgwaneng. The municipality will provide regular updates on the status of the matter,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Ebenezer Plant was loadshed twice yesterday, affecting the city and rural areas but Selela says power was restored and that officials on site have started pumping water.

“Areas receiving water are urged to use water sparingly,” he concluded.
