Polokwane magistrate robbed at overnight accommodation, police launch investigation

The police are investigating a robbery incident which took place on 23 February, where a vehicle belonging to a local magistrate was stolen at a overnight accommodation outside the city.

POLOKWANE – According to a statement issued by Police spokesperson,Constable Maphure Manamela, it is alleged that on the said day, the 44-year-old magistrate had booked into the accommodation together with a female companion, who he allegedly met earlier around town. It is understood that while inside the room the victim had had a drink and passed out. When he was woken up by the employees at around 07:00 he realised his cellphone and motor vehicle, BMW 3-series, had been stolen. His companion had also disappeared and it is suspected the drink he had may have been spiked.

The police were immediately notified and commenced with initial investigations until the stolen vehicle was found abandoned in Soshanguve, Gauteng a week later.

The police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect (s) and are requesting the person in the following picture to avail herself at the nearest police station as it is believed she can assist in the investigation of this case.
