Provincial Leader of the Democratic Alliance (DA), Jacques Smalle was expected to conduct an oversight inspection at the apparently neglected Villa Nora Police Station yesterday (Wednesday).
The inspection emanated from the DA’s recent door-to-door campaign where communities in the area raised several issues concerning the Police station.
In a press statement by the DA it is mentioned that the station has allegedly had no water supply for over two months, that there is a shortage of staff and vehicles to patrol the area, especially at night, and that roads leading to the station are not maintained.
Smalle will be accompanied by the party’s political head for Lephalale, Risham Maharaj.
An update on the visit will be communicated later.
