POLOKWANE – Fried Chicken is probably one of the most famous ways to cook chicken, apart from roasting it of course.

The trick to perfect fried chicken is to have crisp well-seasoned skin, rendered of all excess fat. Of course one can never get it close to KFC, but it is worth a try.

Ingredients

  1. 3 x cup flour
  2. 1 x KNORR Creamy Garlic Sauce
  3. 3 x tbsp coarse black pepper, ground
  4. 2 x eggs
  5. 4 x cup buttermilk
  6. 1 x cup KNORR Braai bottle Sauce
  7. 2 x tbsp worcestershire sauce
  8. 10 x chicken pieces
  9. 2 x cup oil (for frying)

Method

  1. In a large shallow dish, mix together flour, Knorr Creamy Garlic Instant Sauce and black pepper.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat eggs, then whisk in buttermilk, KNORR Braai Sauce and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. Dredge chicken in milk mixture, then in seasoned flour, alternating in each at least twice.
  4. Heat oil in a large pot.
  5. Deep fry chicken in hot oil until golden brown on both sides, about 10 minutes each side until cooked.
  6. Serve with a choice of salad or vegetables.
