Olifantspoort plant stopped due to pipe line leak, shortages expected

The Polokwane Municipality says water supply to affected areas will be restored once repairs are completed

POLOKWANE – The Olifantspoort plant has been stopped once again for repairs on the specon pipe line.

“A pipe line leak was discovered this morning and a team of engineers are fixing the problem. Affected areas of supply are the city, Ga-Chuene and Seshego,” spokesperson, Thipa Selela said.

The municipality says they will provide regular updates on the status of the repairs as well as deploy water tankers to affected areas.

“Water supply to affected areas will be restored once the repairs are completed. In the meantime, unaffected areas are advised to use water sparingly,” Selela concluded
