[TRAFFIC ALERT] Truck and bus collision leads to temporary closure of the R81

The Department of Transport say details of injuries and fatalities will be made available once the scene has been cleared.

POLOKWANE – The R81 has been temporarily closed at the Sekgopo Village next to the USave Grocery Store following an accident involving a bus and a truck carrying crates of bottles.

Spokesperson for the Department of Transport, Matome Taueatsoala says the bus was carrying 16 passengers at the time of the accident and details of injuries and fatalities will follow as soon as the scene is cleared.

“Motorists are advised to use alternative routes as the clearing of the scene might take a few hours. Those traveling from Polokwane to Giyani are advised to use the Soekmekaar Road and vice-versa,” he concluded.
