Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) will make use of the 2019 edition of Meetings Africa which commenced on Gauteng on Monday to help tourism businesses in the province to close deals that will bring more numbers of people to the province for business and leisure.
This is according to LTA Chief Executive Officer, Nomasonto Ndlovu who led the provincial delegation to the event on Monday.
Ndlovu said the meeting was a platform which they will use to interact with leading conference organizers and key industry decision makers.
“Our participation was largely influenced by the desire to get more information from the Business Tourism Industry in preparation for the establishment of a Business Tourism unit. Over and above that, we will interact, speak and network with professional conference organizers while showcasing the diverse offerings that Limpopo offers to our clients. We view this platform in a serious light as it is through this platform last year that we were able to secure a big IFES World Assembly that will take place in July 2019,” Ndlovu said.
In recent years the global meetings industry began to recognise Africa as a sought after destination.
Meetings Africa is showcasing Africa’s diverse offering of services and products where African associations and African meetings industry professionals can partner to help transform the African continent.
Ndlovu further said, “We will this year again use the platform as an appropriate venue to highlight Heritage and Culture cluster as the main strategic focus for marketing under the theme, ‘Limpopo is open for business.
“LTA will want to make the most of this platform by helping tourism businesses in Limpopo to close deals that will bring more numbers of people to the province for business and leisure.
Meetings African is a trade show which showcases Africa’s diverse offerings of services and products where African associations and meetings industry professionals can partner to help to transform the continent, in the Business Services, Travel and Tourism industries.
“It connects trade, buyers and exhibitors from the continent and around the world, all of which are an integral part of Business Tourism,” she stated.
