Three people died on the weekend following what seems to have been a dispute in a love triangle at Ribacross in the Tubatse Policing area.
According to Provincial Police Spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe the Police are investigating cases of arson, two of murder and an inquest docket has been opened.
It is alleged that three people died in what is believed to have been a love triangle during an incident which occurred at around 01:00 at rented rooms at Ribacross on Saturday. A middle aged man reportedly poured out a flammable substance in the room of a 35-year-old man and set it alight. The victim was rescued by the other tenants who took him to hospital where he died soon after being admitted, according to Ngoepe.
He added that the suspect then allegedly proceeded to his believed girlfriend’s room and broke the window to gain access. He took a two-year-old baby girl outside before setting the room alight with him and the woman inside, according to Ngoepe. Both burnt to death.
The child is still being treated in hospital for.
The motive behind this incident is not clear at this stage but domestic violence cannot be ruled out.
